A pillar in the San Antonio community for his long-standing
commitment and dedication to the citizens of his native city,
Colonel Roy W. Burley was inducted to the Wall of Honor at
the Texas Diabetes Institute on November 8th.
Colonel Burley served on the University Health System Board
of Managers for 14 years, two of these as chairman. His
commitment to service excellence and financial stability were
apparent throughout his tenure, and he continues to be a strong
voice for the uninsured and for people living with chronic disease.
The Texas Diabetes Institute's Wall of Honor was created to identify and
honor individuals of Bexar County who have signifi cantly contributed
to the fi ght against diabetes. Past inductees include Elvira M. Cisneros,
Dr. Lawrence B. Harkless, Luis Roberto Vera, Jr., Commissioner Paul
Elizondo, Dr. Roberto P. Treviño and John A. Guest.
